April 2025 - Jenn // GHOSTXTREK

I’m Jenn, a graphic designer from the Midwest with a passion for adventure and the Subaru community. My journey began in 2020 when I bought my first new car—a Subaru Crosstrek. With no prior experience in vehicle modifications, I started small, aiming to give it a more aggressive look.
By 2021, I had attended several local Subaru meetups, one of which introduced me to Patrick from Orbis Overlanding. Later that year, he led my first overlanding adventure through Michigan’s breathtaking Upper Peninsula. That trip completely changed my perspective on traveling and camping. Since then, I’ve been refining my build to not only handle the trails, but to create the perfect car camping setup.
To support this hobby, I launched a vinyl business—Accentrek Designs—during the pandemic, which helped fund my build while also providing a creative outlet and a way to connect with fellow Subaru enthusiasts. My dogs and I have since traveled through seven states, exploring routes like the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway, MABDR, and more. My longest trip so far has been seven nights camping out of my Crosstrek. Although postponed in 2023 due to wildfires, our largest expedition will be international when we finally tackle the Trans-Tiaga road in northern Quebec.
As a woman, this journey has given me more than just a new hobby; it’s provided a sense of independence and self-reliance. From learning vehicle recovery to solo camping in remote areas, every trip challenges me to grow. Five years in, I’m still discovering new places, meeting amazing people, and improving my build. There’s always another trail to explore, a new view to wake up to, and more stories to be written.
